Job summary

Kings Bay YM-YWHA, Inc. JCC Brooklyn is seeking an experienced Early Childhood Site Director to oversee the daily operations of our nursery/preschool program across 3 classrooms in Brooklyn.

You will lead teaching staff, foster a warm, nurturing environment for children and families, and ensure compliance with licensing, health, safety and organizational standards. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education, NYS Teaching Certificate, and at least two years of leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field approved by the Department.
• Valid NYS Teaching Certificate, Initial or Professional accepted.
• Minimum of 2 years of documented experience as a group teacher in early childhood.
• Prior leadership experience in an early childhood setting.
• Strong knowledge of early childhood development and classroom operations.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to supervise staff and manage parent communication professionally.
• Familiarity with Jewish culture and Hebrew language preferred.
• Must meet licensing and regulatory requirements.

The Opportunity

JCC Brooklyn is seeking an experienced and dedicated Early Childhood Site Director to oversee the daily operations of our nursery/preschool program (3 classrooms). The Site Director will provide strong leadership to teaching staff, support a warm and nurturing environment for children and families, and ensure the program operates in compliance with all applicable licensing, health, safety, and organizational standards.

The ideal candidate is a professional early childhood leader with strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to build positive relationships with staff, children, and families. Familiarity with Jewish culture, traditions, holidays, and community values is strongly preferred. Hebrew language skills are also strongly preferred, as many families in our program communicate in Hebrew.

Schedule

• Full-time, in-person position. Regular office hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Occasional flexibility may be needed to support program operations and responsibilities.
