The Irvine Unified School District comprises a diverse population of more than 36,000 PK-12 students across various educational settings, including one early childhood learning center, 24 elementary schools, five K-8 schools, six middle schools, five high schools, and one alternative high school. IUSD schools are nationally recognized for their comprehensive programs in academics, the arts, and athletics.

Job Description / Essential Elements :

Under the supervision of the Principal or Assistant Principal, the preschool classroom teacher serves children of preschool age by providing instruction, care, and assistance at a designated child care center. Responsibilities include developing and implementing lesson plans and instructional activities tailored to children's needs, and preparing and maintaining relevant records and reports.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :

Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by college-level coursework in early childhood education, including 24 units in Early Childhood Education and at least one year of educational experience working with preschool-aged children. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS :

• Valid State of California Child Development Teacher Permit, Master Teacher Permit, Site Supervisor Permit, or Program Director Permit.
• Health screening and fingerprint clearance through Community Care Licensing.
