The New York City Department of Education is seeking a Policy Development Coordinator in the Division of Early Childhood Education (DECE) to advance policy initiatives, coordinate cross‑functional work across NYCPS and city agencies, and support research, implementation, and analysis. This role reports to the Manager/Director of Policy Development and drives key priorities for birth-to-five programs.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree and two years of related community work experience.
• Experience with policy development or program implementation is preferred.
• Familiarity with NYCPS policy, DOHMH regulations and OCFS standards is a plus.
• Strong research and writing abilities are essential.
• Ability to coordinate with diverse stakeholders and manage multiple priorities.

Responsabilités

• Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of policy initiatives.
• Support surveys and data collection tools for policy needs.
• Conduct research on local, state, and federal policies affecting early childhood education.
• Draft policy briefs, guidance documents, and presentations.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners to align policies with NYCPS requirements.
• Monitor compliance with regulations across early childhood programs.
• Prepare reports and materials for DECE leadership and stakeholders.
• Plan and coordinate meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions.
• Maintain documentation and track progress toward policy milestones.
• Provide general project management support.
