Job summary

Johnson County Park and Recreation District (JCPRD) seeks a dedicated professional to lead child and youth programs across Johnson County. The role involves delivering high-quality childcare and education while guiding program staff and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will coordinate daily lessons, participate in ongoing professional development, and collaborate with families, staff, and partners to support healthy, engaging activities in a dynamic park and recreation environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of fifteen credit hours in Education Recreation, or Early Childhood Education.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Development, Administration of Parks and Recreation, Early Childhood, or a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of a High Performing Organization through staff leadership and collaboration.
• Travel to Johnson County programs to provide quality childcare and educational opportunities.
• Serve as Lead Teacher or Program Director as needed to meet staffing needs.
• Ensure health, welfare, and well-being of each child.
• Provide daily lessons and meet KDHE requirements for staff and children.
