Early Childhood Music Teacher

Job Responsibilities:

The position is part‑time, teaching weekly 40‑minute music classes on Sundays from Sunday, September 24, 2023 through Sunday, June 16, 2024.

Teach the following classes:

• A music class for babies/toddlers
• A music class for 3‑4‑year‑olds
• A music class for 5‑6‑year‑olds
• A music class for 6‑7‑year‑olds
• A music class for children with special needs (children will have an aid with them)
• A beginning piano group class with four children

Provide paid professional development in Musikgarten content and pedagogy, with all sessions online. Opportunities may include teaching voice lessons or other private music lessons, depending on background.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A degree in music education or several years of experience teaching music to young children.
• Guitar, autoharp, violin, or piano skills.
• Able to sing in tune and have a pleasant singing voice.
• Skill with classroom management.
• A talent for engaging children, lots of enthusiasm.
• Knowledge of appropriate music and activities for the age group.

Salary:

$60 per class, based on experience (annual salary under $25,000).
