Summary

Manchester Early Learning Center is seeking a warm, experienced, and enthusiastic Lead Toddler Teacher to join our growing team. As we transition to a Montessori-based program, we are looking for an educator passionate about early childhood development and excited to implement Montessori principles in a toddler classroom.

The Lead Toddler Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where toddlers can explore, grow, and develop independence. This role includes leading daily routines, guiding age-appropriate activities, and fostering meaningful connections with children and families.

Duties
  1. Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities supporting social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.
  2. Incorporate Montessori methods and materials into daily routines and classroom setup.
  3. Provide a consistent, calm, and respectful environment that nurtures toddler independence and curiosity.
  4. Supervise and support Teacher Assistants in the classroom.
  5. Maintain daily routines including diapering, toileting, mealtime, and rest periods.
  6. Observe and assess each child's development, document progress, and adjust practices as needed.
  7. Communicate effectively with families through daily updates, conferences, and ongoing dialogue.
  8. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive, supportive learning environment.
  9. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
Requirements
  1. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
  2. Experience working with toddlers in a licensed early childhood setting required.
  3. Willingness to learn and implement Montessori philosophy and methods.
  4. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  5. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work at the child's level throughout the day.
  6. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Nice To Haves
  1. Montessori certification or training, or interest in pursuing it.
  2. Familiarity with developmental assessments and child observation methods.
