Summary
The Lead Teacher supports the classroom and the Director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for children and assisting in activities to enhance the overall care and quality of education. She/He must be able to communicate effectively, listen, and work well with others in a team environment. Responsibilities include implementing a quality educational program, developing positive relationships with children and parents, observing and documenting children's interests and progress, and relaying this information to parents and staff. Lead Teachers are responsible for executing developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs under the guidance of the Teacher and the Director.

Position Details
This is a part-time Lead Preschool Teacher position, working from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with the possibility of additional hours to supplement income. The position is available for immediate start, with complete training provided prior to classroom attendance.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing curriculum activities and encourage children's participation.
- Engage actively in activities; manage classroom cleanliness, maintenance, and materials.
- Maintain regular communication with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
- Promote self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
- Ensure smooth daily transitions from home to the childcare center.
- Follow all center policies and state regulations.
- Maintain a personal professional development plan for continuous improvement.
- Commit to Christ-centered actions by actively participating in a Christian church program.
- Work cooperatively and collaboratively with others.
- Communicate effectively with students and families.
- Seek opportunities for improvement continually.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of professional childcare or teaching experience.
- High energy level.
- Associate degree or higher.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- Understanding of child development.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification (provided by Winfree Preschool).
- Must pass a full background check and health screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with preschool children in volunteer programs.
- Experience with tutoring, camp, or Bible school programs.
- Experience in customer service or human resources.
