Base pay range

$18.00/hr - $21.00/hr

The Lead Teacher is responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Teachers must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Lead Teacher must be skilled in communicating with children and adults, guiding teacher assistants, and working with parents.

Full and part-time opportunities are anticipated.

Duties
  • Coordinate and implement educational curriculum based on developmentally appropriate practices, early learning standards, and children's interests.
  • Lead by example; encourage team success through modeling and coaching.
  • Nurture children's development through age-appropriate activities to foster social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
  • Maintain frequent communication with parents.
  • Ensure all policies and regulations are met.
  • Maintain a healthy classroom environment.
  • Keep accurate records, forms, and files.
  • Maintain a personal professional development plan for continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • 24 credits in early childhood education or a related field OR a combination of education and experience meeting NH licensing rules.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional child care experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of child development.
  • High energy and ability to work well with staff, children, and parents.
  • Excellent communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • Leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Must pass background check and health screening.
Nice to Haves
  • Experience with Pyramid Model, Conscious Discipline, Environment Rating Scales, or Strengthening Families Protective Factors.
  • Familiarity with NH Granite Steps for Quality.
