Job summary

Jefferson County Public Schools is seeking an Early Childhood Instructional Assistant to support classroom activities and student learning. Under supervision, you will tutor students, help document progress, and prepare instructional materials, while assisting bus drivers with student supervision.

This position requires a High School Diploma or GED, and you must meet the Kentucky Para-educator standards by assessment or college hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Passing score on Kentucky Para-educator Assessment or 48 college semester hours.
• Demonstrated competent language skills and ability to read and understand meanings.
• Successful experience working with children, individually or in groups.
• Program-specific trainings to be completed within 90 days, including bus monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students and assist in documenting pupil progress.
• Prepare and organize instructional materials and equipment.
• Instruct and assist, including bus drivers with supervision.
