Job summary

Jefferson County Public Schools is seeking an instructional assistant to support the classroom under the supervision of a teacher or principal. The role includes tutoring students, documenting pupil progress, and preparing and organizing materials and equipment.

The position follows the 187-day/6.5-hour calendar with a salary range of $22.65 to $24.85 per hour, and requires a high school diploma or GED, plus Kentucky Para-educator Assessment or 48 college hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Passing Kentucky Paraeducator Assessment or 48 college hours.
• Demonstrated competent language skills.
• Experience working with children, individually or in groups.
• Participation in KDE/local district program training.
• Program-specific certifications/training.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students as part of the instructional program.
• Assist in documenting pupil progress.
• Prepare and organize materials and equipment.
• Support the supervising teacher or principal as needed.
