Job description

Saint Rose is looking for a passionate catechist to lead Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for the Parish and School, and work to actively engage families with early childhood youth (age 3-7 years old) in faith formation and parish life.Primary Responsibilities
  1. To organize and implement Faith Formation programming for Preschool through First Grade youth within the parish and school.*
  2. Lead Catechesis of the Good Shepherd level 1 for Preschool through 1st Grade students.*
  3. Plan and execute Catechesis of the Word for Children one Sunday per month, during Mass, to help children understand and engage with the Sunday Gospel.
  4. Work on curriculum development and selection of materials for programs that suitably accomplish Faith Formation goals.
  5. Partner with other Faith Formation Staff to plan and execute 3-4 intergenerational catechetical events for the parish community each year.
  6. Assist in organizing childcare options for major parish events as needed.
  7. Supervise, recruit, and train volunteer leaders and catechists.
  8. Aid in Faith Formation enrollment and promotion procedures.
  9. partner with parents to assist in continuing quality catechesis at home.
  10. Communicate program budget needs to the Director of Evangelization and be responsible for administration of the budget allocation for the Sunday programs
  11. Maintain effective channels of communication with Early Childhood families.
  12. Develop rapport with parish families and leaders through relational ministry.
  13. Collaborate with the rest of the Faith Formation team and other parish staff to accomplish ministry goals in line with the parish mission.
