Position Details

This role involves preparing and serving meals and snacks to children and staff in an early childhood center. The cook is responsible for kitchen maintenance, cleanliness, inventory, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Plan menus according to nutritional guidelines and food restrictions, familiar with CACFP guidelines.
• Take daily attendance counts.
• Manage food deliveries and stock supplies.
• Prepare, cook, and deliver meals.
• Maintain hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen per state licensing requirements.
• Order food and supplies to ensure a well-stocked kitchen.
• Follow all center policies and state regulations.
• Engage in personal professional development for continuous improvement.

Minimum Requirements

• 1-2 years of professional food service experience, preferably in childcare or institutional settings.
• Basic math skills for measuring and portioning.
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
• Clear background check and health screening.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma (nice to have).
• Additional experience and trainability are advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range: $12.00/hr - $14.00/hr.
