Job summary

Early Childhood Education Project Specialist Lead (Education)

Purpose:

Support childcare professionals through professional development, technical assistance, and access to DESE quality initiative services. Utilize community partnerships in St. Charles, St. Louis City, and St. Louis County to meet community needs.

Job Duties:
  • Supervise and oversee Project Specialists
  • Lead team meetings and coordinate training sessions (in-person and virtual)
  • Manage administrative tasks: training lists, calendars, databases, inquiries
  • Collaborate with teams to meet deliverables and support classroom integration
  • Participate in professional development and develop state-approved training
  • Schedule and update training courses
  • Travel to various locations for oversight and training
  • Maintain professional development catalog and ensure compliance with state platforms
  • Respond to education and training inquiries
  • Develop an annual professional development plan for providers
  • Complete agency reporting accurately and on time
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Associate degree in Child Development, Early Childhood, Education, or related field; Bachelor’s preferred. Equivalent work experience accepted.

Minimum 2 years working with teachers/staff in licensed or regulated childcare or education settings. 1-3 years of supervision or training experience in early childhood.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Expertise in Early Education, Child Development (birth to age five), and Family Engagement
  • Strong understanding of child and adult development and relationship-based curriculum development
  • Project planning and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in computer skills and data analysis
  • Experience working with diverse populations and implementing trauma-informed strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of MOPD System
