Seattle Hebrew Academy is seeking an experienced Early Childhood Float Teacher to support the Early Childhood Department across classrooms, stepping in to cover absences and assist with routines. You will work with lead teachers to maintain engaging, developmentally appropriate activities and foster a warm, welcoming environment.

  • Reinforce classroom expectations and routines using positive and consistent language.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, organization, setup, and cleanup as needed.
  • Help maintain safe, organized, welcoming, and engaging learning environments.
  • Observe and respond to individual student needs while following guidance from classroom teachers and the Early Childhood Director.
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with teachers, administrators, students, and families.
  • Maintain student confidentiality and follow all school policies and procedures.
  • Be flexible and willing to adjust responsibilities throughout the day based on the needs of students and the Early Childhood program.

Early Childhood Float Teacher

Seeking experienced Early Childhood Float Teacher. Candidates should be highly motivated to grow professionally, work collaboratively and to become part of our professional learning community. Seattle Hebrew Academy is a Modern Orthodox Jewish Day School, serving the greater Seattle community for over 70 years. SHA provides exceptional academics and inspired Judaic Studies to students from Early Childhood through 8th Grade.

Seattle Hebrew Academy - founded on love of God & Torah - educates students, families, and community within an atmosphere of K'vod HaTalmid, student dignity.

The Float Teacher plays an important role in creating a nurturing, safe, joyful, and developmentally appropriate environment for our youngest learners.

This position works across Early Childhood classrooms based on the needs of the program each day. The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children, is comfortable moving between classrooms and age groups, and is able to quickly become a supportive and positive presence for both students and teachers.
