Job summary

Western-Arizona-Council-of-Government (WACOG) is seeking a qualified Head Start program professional to support Mohave, La Paz and Yuma counties. The role focuses on ensuring high-quality early childhood education and family support in line with Head Start standards.

You will mentor teaching staff, conduct CLASS assessments, plan trainings, monitor safety/compliance, and contribute to school readiness for children in the service area. Travel within the WACOG region is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education.
• Minimum five years in Early Childhood Education.

Responsibilities

• Assess teaching staff, set practical goals, mentor and coach staff to achieve goals.
• Perform CLASS assessments and determine trainings.
• Conduct formal classroom and individual trainings as needed.
• Observe Head Start classroom operations and report safety/compliance issues.
• Track children’s assessment outcomes and support school readiness goals.
• Travel within WACOG service area as needed; may include overnight stays.
