Job summary

Gresham Barlow School District is seeking an Educational Assistant Child Care Specialist for Birth to 5 years at the Childhood Development Center. The role collaborates with supervisors, licensed staff, and families to deliver a high-quality early learning program in a diverse setting.

Ideal candidates will have a HS diploma, and may hold an Associate degree or Para Pro certification. Preference is given to candidates with CDA or ECE AA and Oregon Registry Step 4 or higher.

Qualifications

Requires High School diploma or equivalent.
“Highly Qualified” status means an Associate degree, 72 credits, or passing the Para Pro exam.
Preferred: CDA or Early Childhood Education AA, or 72 college quarter hours or higher degree.
Step 4 or higher on Oregon Registry Online or ability to obtain within one year.

Responsibilities

Monitor safety and behavior of infants, toddlers and high school aged students.
Assist in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities.
Maintain daily records and classroom materials as needed.
Communicate with parents and Coordinator to support student progress.
Provide culturally responsive instruction and guidance.
