Job summary

The Ridgewood YMCA, part of the National Council of Young Men’s Christian Associations of the United States of America, is seeking an Early Childhood Director to implement safe, high-quality programs. You will supervise staff, oversee budgeting, curriculum development, and regulatory compliance for DOE center-based classrooms, early childhood centers, and related programming.

You will lead enrollment growth, develop a comprehensive program portfolio, and ensure strong communication with families

Qualifications

Must have one of the following: Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with state certification.
Current teaching license or certificate valid for early childhood or childhood grades (NY UPK regs).
Experience leading programs for children under six and managing budgets.

Responsibilities

Maintain and improve quality of Early Learning, Early Childhood after-school and enrichment programs.
Ensure DOE/Health regulatory obligations are met and align with funders.
Supervise staff, volunteers, and interns; monitor performance and provide training.
Develop and manage budgets; act as liaison with community organizations.
Lead marketing and communications to promote programs to local groups.
