Base pay range

$16.00/hr - $22.00/hr

Summary

The Lead Teacher supports other Teachers and the Director by creating a caring and safe environment for children and planning activities to enhance care and education quality. The role requires good communication, listening skills, and teamwork. Responsibilities include implementing educational programs, developing positive relationships with children and parents, observing and documenting children's interests and progress, and ensuring developmentally appropriate activities based on children's needs.

Understanding children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development is essential to foster a safe, engaging, and stimulating classroom environment. The Teacher must effectively communicate with children and adults, guide teacher assistants, and address parental concerns.

Duties
  • Assist children with eating, diapering, and toileting.
  • Implement curriculum activities and encourage participation.
  • Engage actively in activities, maintain cleanliness, safety, and classroom materials.
  • Communicate regularly with parents through discussions and reports.
  • Promote self-help and hygiene behaviors through modeling.
  • Ensure smooth daily transitions from home to the center.
  • Keep appropriate logs.
  • Maintain a high-quality Youngstar classroom.
  • Follow center policies and licensing standards.
  • Develop and maintain a professional growth plan.
