Base pay range

$29,000.00/yr - $37,500.00/yr

Summary

The Teacher is responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Teachers must understand children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Teacher must effectively communicate with children, parents, and staff, guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns.

Duties
  • Coordinate and implement educational curriculum based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
  • Lead by example; encourage team success through modeling and coaching.
  • Plan age-appropriate activities to promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents through discussions, reports, and conferences.
  • Ensure compliance with center policies and state regulations.
  • Maintain a healthy classroom environment, including hygiene, safety, and security standards.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to ensure adherence to activities, hygiene, and safety standards.
  • Keep accurate records and documentation.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development for continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Active Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or TCC.
  • OR at least 48 semester credit hours, including 15 in early childhood education or related fields.
  • At least two years of experience in a licensed child development facility.
  • By December 2023, must earn an associate degree in early childhood education or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • High energy, teamwork skills, and a strong understanding of child development.
  • Leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Clear background check and health screening.
