Easter Seals South Florida Inc. is hiring a Teacher Assistant in Miami to support an instructional team serving children from birth to five with disabilities.

The role focuses on creating an inclusive classroom, assisting with lesson delivery, and promoting personal growth in each child. The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, DCF 45 hours childcare training, and CPR/First Aid certification; CDA/FCCPC is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• DCF 45 hours childcare training required.
• Within 90 days, register for courses and complete credits within 1 year.
• National CDA or FCCPC preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification must be obtained.
• Demonstrated experience working with children preferred.
• Ability to promote teamwork and build effective relationships.
• Desire to improve the lives of people with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in executing the education curriculum for all students.
• Arrange classroom environment according to children's abilities.
• Communicate objectives of lessons to students.
• Foster an environment that supports achievement, team spirit and leadership.
• Assist with developmental assessments to determine strengths and needs.
• Enforce rules and maintain order among students.
• Implement guidance techniques and classroom management; assist during emergencies.
• Assist with snacks and ensure rooms are cleaned.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies.
• Maintain a safe, healthy learning environment.
• Report suspected child abuse/neglect to Hotline and administration.
• Follow Easter Seals policies, DCF standards, and safety procedures.
• Document attendance and complete required trainings.
• Ensure safety during drills and emergencies.
• Other duties as assigned.
