Job summary

The Community Action in Aroostook, Washington and Hancock Counties is seeking an experienced Teacher to plan, prepare, and implement classroom activities for a center-based program. You will supervise staff and volunteers, engage families through conferences, and support day-to-day operations to ensure high-quality services.

Qualifications include an associate degree in early childhood, supervisory experience, and required certifications.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of center-based teaching experience with young children.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with 36+ credits.
• Ed Tech Certification II or III is required.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, and implements classroom activities and field trips; plans classroom teaching strategies.
• Completes screenings and records observations of children; works with parents to plan and implement programs.
• Plans and implements cultural awareness programs; ensures nutritious meals and snacks.
• Orients parents as classroom volunteers and assists staff and parents in organizing parent activities; attends meetings.
• Interviews, hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates staff; manages performance and resources.
