Job summary

Lorain County Community Action Agency is seeking an Early Childhood Services Worker to support Head Start activities and provide classroom substitute coverage in Lorain County. The role includes extended hours, meal preparation help, and participation in ongoing trainings.

Applicants should have a high school diploma (associates degree preferred) and be able to transport themselves to multiple agency classrooms.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; an Associates degree or equivalent preferred.
• Experience working with young children required.
• Willingness to attend ODJFS/Head Start trainings.

Responsibilities

• Supports activity in the early childhood services area.
• Acts as a substitute in the classroom.
• Provides extended day hours of operations.
• Prepares, serves meals and may assist with clean up.
• Attends center meetings when required.
• May participate in in-service trainings and workshops.
• Accepts short term or permanent classroom assignments as indicated by staff requirements.
• Abides by applicable agency rules and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned by the Head Teacher and/or Site Administrator.
