Job summary

Champaign County Regional Planning Commission is seeking Teacher Aides to join our team in Champaign, IL. You will assist teachers to deliver developmentally appropriate activities and foster communication with families and the broader community.

Position is full-time, year-round, with a schedule of 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Starting hourly wage ranges based on CDA status: $18.55–$18.75 without CDA, $19.20–$20.23 with CDA.

Qualifications

• Proof of high school diploma or GED required
• CDA credential or degree in early childhood education/development preferred
• Must meet Illinois DCFS requirements
• Ability to lift children up to 60 pounds in an emergency

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher(s) with providing a developmentally appropriate educational program
• Promote good communication between Head Start, parents, and the community
