Job summary

Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo County, Inc. seeks an Associate Teacher for our Early Childhood Education team. You will contribute to the growth and development of children aged 0–5, collaborating with teachers to deliver developmentally appropriate activities.

The role requires 12 ECE/CD units (or CDA/CTC) and a permit by hire or within 60 days, plus 6 months of related experience. A California driver license and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 12 semester units ECE/CD with a grade C or better or CDA Credential or CTC.
• Candidate must obtain Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or higher by hire, or apply within 60 days of start date.
• Minimum 6 months related experience with children age 0–5 years.
• May require valid California driver’s license, DMV record, and proof of insurance for travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and education for children ages 0–5 with engaging learning experiences.
• Collaborate with Center Supervisor and Teachers to plan and implement activities.
• Serve in the Teacher's role in their absence, guiding instructional assistants, parents and volunteers.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for all children.
• Assist in planning and executing educational activities promoting child development.
• Participate in physical activities with children (games, music, outdoor play).
• Assist with bus supervision and ensure children's safety during transportation.
• Complete pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR within 30 days of hire.
• Complete 16 hours of health practices and nutrition training within 30 days of hire.
