Job Summary

We are seeking an Assistant Teacher for our Early Childhood Program. The Assistant Teacher supports the lead teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young children. Assistant Teachers implements pre-planned activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development suitable for the age group of the children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with Lesson Plans: Help the lead teacher prepare and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities tailored to the developmental needs of young children.
  • Developmental Activities: Aid with activities that help children develop basic motor skills, language, social interaction, and self-help skills.
  • Daily Routines: Help children with daily routines, including cleanup, meals and diaper changes.
  • Parent Communication: Communicate effectively with parents about their child's progress and behavior.
  • Safety and Supervision: Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
  1. Education: High School Diploma required. At least 1 year of college level credits preferred, especially in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
  2. Experience: Shows empathy and compassion for young children. Previous experience working with young children preferred.
  3. Skills: Is dependable and adaptable. Enjoys working with others towards a common goal. Ability to relate positively to children and families. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
  4. Personality: Enthusiastic and nurturing. Enjoys collaborative work environment. Committed to fostering a positive learning environment for young children.
  5. Other Requirements: Ability to pass a background check required.

Salary Range: $15 - $19 per hour, depending on experience.
