Job summary

The Butterfly Bunch is hiring an Assistant Teacher in Royal Oak, Michigan to support the Lead Teacher in delivering a safe, nurturing early childhood program. You will help with daily activities, supervise children, and maintain organized classrooms while following Michigan licensing rules and Butterfly Bunch policies.

Additionally, you may step in for the Lead Teacher as needed, build strong family relationships, and collaborate with the team to provide high-quality care and education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR and First Aid certifications or willingness to obtain.
• Experience with young children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.
• Prepare classroom materials and learning centers.
• Support large and small group activities and individual learning.
• Supervise children during indoor/outdoor play, meals, and rest time.
• Follow health, safety, and licensing requirements and report concerns.
• Communicate with families and maintain professional relationships.
