Greater Midland Community Centers Inc. seeks an Assistant Teacher to support young children in its Early Childhood Education programs. Under the Lead Teacher, you will help implement daily routines and developmentally appropriate activities, while upholding the center's Purpose and Values.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; CDA preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age at minimum.
  • Experience working with children is preferred.
  • TB and Fingerprint clearance required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain daily documentation of activities, progress, milestones and KPIs; assist Lead Teacher in collecting data for COR Advantage.
  • Engage with parents/guardians through written, verbal and social platforms.
  • Consistently engage at the child’s level throughout daily routines.
  • Support Lead Teacher in daily activities.
  • Meet basic needs including diapering/toileting, food prep/service, hygiene, and development.
  • Build and maintain healthy relationships with children, parents/guardians and staff.
  • Ensure the safety of all children at all times.
  • Maintain compliance with State of Michigan Licensing guidelines.
  • Complete 24+ hours of professional development per year.
  • Complete CPR/First Aid as needed.
  • Demonstrate behaviors aligned with Greater Midland’s Values.
