Job description

Summary

St. Edwards Child Development Center, a nationally accredited program, is looking for a strong, energetic Early Childhood Assistant Teacher/Floater. We provide early childhood education and care in a way that engages families, celebrates our diversity of faiths and cultures, and provides a strong foundation for success. This position is part time.

Hours are 630am-10:30am or 1:00-5:00pm


Duties

The Early Childcare Assistant Teacher/Floater is responsible for:


*Assisting the teachers in the classrooms as directed

*Provide care and protection for assigned children

*Supervise the children's play activities by participating with children in group games and free play, enforcing safety rules, encouraging children to develop positive social relationships with peers and with adults

*Work with staff to develop the potential of each child

*Aid children in routine care activities such as diapering, toileting, eating, dressing and other activities to foster appropriate habits.

*Assist in maintaining the health and safety of the environment, including light cleaning duties

*Participate in staff meetings and training session as directed.

*Meet yearly continuing education requirements

*Maintain confidentiality at all times


Requirements

We are looking for energetic and dependable individuals who are at least 18 and:


*Pass required state background/fingerprint checks

*Are able to sit on the floor, bend, squat, and lift children up to 40lbs

*High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children and parents)

*Infant/child CPR and First Aid Certification (or willing to get within 60 days of employment)

*ECE Teacher or assistant Teacher certification through the state (or willing to get within 60 days of employment)

*Must be high-energy and self-starter

Associates Degree in Early Childcare Education or CDA
