Job summary

Slater Torah Academy in Metairie, LA, seeks a warm, positive Assistant Teacher for our Toddler Classroom to support a lead teacher in creating a nurturing, safe, and engaging space for infants and toddlers.

You will contribute to developmentally appropriate activities, assist with routines, and communicate with families, helping foster a collaborative and supportive learning environment. A CDA or higher is preferred, and Hebrew knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• A genuine love for working with toddlers and young children.
• Prior experience working with children in a group or professional setting.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including sitting on the floor, lifting and carrying children, and actively participating in all classroom activities.
• Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check with a clean record.
• Preferred: a CDA, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree (or willingness to enroll in a CDA program).
• Knowledge of Hebrew language and Jewish culture is a wonderful plus.
