Job summary

Yellow Brick Road Early Childhood Development Center is seeking an Assistant Educator to support the Lead Educator in delivering a nurturing, inclusive learning environment for young children in Iowa. You will help implement play-based activities, promote safety, and document development with the Lead Educator.

You will also maintain a tidy classroom, guide conflict resolution, communicate with families, and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience with young children in a childcare setting preferred.
• Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 65 lbs.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and meet state licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Educator in implementing play-based, age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.
• Supervise and engage with children to ensure safety and participation.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe classroom environment.
• Support family communication and daily updates through the Parent Communication app.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share ideas and best practices.
