Job summary

Yellow Brick Road Early Childhood Development Center in Iowa is seeking an Assistant Educator to support the Lead Educator in delivering play-based, age-appropriate learning experiences. You will help maintain a positive classroom environment, supervise children, and assist with documenting developmental progress while communicating regularly with families.

Qualifications

• Experience with young children in a childcare setting preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills required.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and meet state licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Educator with play-based, age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.
• Supervise and engage with children, ensuring safety and participation in daily activities.
• Support classroom organization, schedules, routines, and conflict-resolution techniques.
• Communicate professionally with families during drop-off/pick-up and through the Parent Communication app.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share ideas, resources, and best practices.
