Sequatchie Valley Educational Development Agency is seeking a teacher aide to assist in delivering developmentally appropriate curriculum for young children. Emphasis on child safety, supervision, and healthy classroom environments is essential.

The role supports teachers, maintains a clean, organized space, and encourages language development through interaction. CDA credentials and/or ECE coursework are encouraged; a background check and drug screening are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; one year of paid or volunteer experience with young children preferred.
• Knowledge of child growth and development; ability to communicate with children and adults.
• Desirable CDA credentials or ECE coursework.
• Must pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing well-planned, developmentally appropriate curriculum.
• Ensure child safety, including supervision and health standards.
• Support teachers and center staff in maintaining a clean, organized classroom.
• Encourage language development through conversation and questions.
• Maintain confidentiality and promote teamwork; may serve as bus aide or substitute for nutrition staff as needed.
