The Long Island City YMCA in Queens, NY is seeking an Activity Specialist for the Early Childhood program to provide safe, engaging learning experiences for preschoolers, with a focus on movement and academic enrichment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years of experience with preschool children preferred.
• Basic computer skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health, safety, and well-being of participants through supervision.
• Plan and implement meaningful, age-appropriate activities.
• Teach structured games and gross motor skills to build confidence.
• Coordinate and present a culminating performance when applicable.
• Work cooperatively with staff, teachers, and administration.
• Promote an inclusive, welcoming environment for all participants.
• Maintain a strength-based atmosphere for diverse learners.
