Role Description

The Center Director is a full-time, on-site role based in Grosse Pointe Woods, MI. This position oversees the daily operations of the center, including staff scheduling, classroom coverage, and ensuring compliance with licensing and safety regulations. The Center Director builds strong relationships with families, provides timely communication, and supports enrollment and retention efforts. This role leads and coaches educators, supports curriculum implementation, and promotes a positive, inclusive environment for children and staff. The Center Director also manages budgets, monitors center performance, and collaborates with regional leadership to achieve educational and operational goals.

• Experience in early childhood education leadership, including center management, staff supervision, and family engagement.
• Knowledge of child development, curriculum implementation, and best practices in early education and care.
• Ability to ensure compliance with state licensing, health and safety regulations, and organizational policies.

• Proficiency in basic administrative functions, including budgeting, scheduling, and enrollment management.
• Demonstrated ability to foster an inclusive, supportive environment that reflects respect for diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
• Previous experience in a child care center, school, or similar educational setting is preferred.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field is strongly preferred; equivalent experience may be considered based on local requirements.
• Ability to meet all state and local requirements for center directors, including background checks and required certifications.
