Job summary

WTW in Memphis is offering an actuarial internship within the ADG that supports Defined Benefit, Defined Contribution and post-retirement welfare plans. You will participate in retirement valuation work, data analysis, and the preparation of government forms and employee benefit statements, using established spreadsheets or our plan administration system.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in Actuarial Science or related field with minimum GPA 3.0
• Not interested in pursuing future actuarial exams
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to interact with colleagues at all levels
• Strong client delivery orientation
• Ability to work independently and on client teams
• Ability to apply problem-solving techniques in a business context
• Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
• Expected graduation between December 2027 and June 2028

Responsibilities

• Participate in training sessions and engage actively
• Perform actuarial valuations and prepare valuation reports
• Analyze pension plan participant data and reconcile datasets
• Calculate pension benefits using spreadsheets or our plan administration system
• Prepare government reporting forms and annual employee statements

Explore an opportunity. As an intern within the ADG, you will contribute to a range of retirement valuation and special projects. You will have the opportunity to learn about various aspects of retirement plans and the typical actuarial work we do. You will employ the most cutting-edge tools and resources to complete required projects involving valuation data, government filings and pension benefit calculations. In addition, you will participate in our robust training program for interns and entry level full-time analysts. Actuarial credentials are not required for colleagues in the ADG, and as a result, ADG colleagues are not eligible for the exam program.

Love your work. Partner with team members to support projects by:

• Participating and actively engaging in training sessions
• Performing actuarial valuations and preparing valuation reports
• Performing data analysis and reconciliations of pension plan participant data
• Performing pension benefit calculations using established spreadsheets or our proprietary plan administration system
• Preparing government reporting forms and annual employee benefit statements
• Supporting special projects as ad-hoc needs arise
• Working with other colleagues to ensure that each project is completed on time and meets quality standards
• Responding to all requests and communications effectively and efficiently

Qualifications

About you.

• Progress towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or any other major with significant quantitative course work with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0
• We are looking for candidates who are not interested in writing future actuarial exams
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Organized, detail-oriented, effective time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to interact with colleagues at all levels
• Strong client delivery orientation
• Ability to work both independently and on client teams
• Ability to apply problem solving techniques in a business environment
• Able to work legally in the United States indefinitely and without Visa sponsorship
• Accepting applications from candidates that graduate with a Bachelor's or Master's degree between December 2027 through June 2028
