Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of insurance defense litigation from case inception to verdict, including initial case assessment, discovery, depositions, motion practice, pre-trial negotiations, courtroom advocacy, and post-trial motions to ensure favorable outcomes for clients.
- Gather and organize documents, evidence, and legal research for cases, including preparation for hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.
- Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents; prepare summaries and reports.
- Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
- Interview clients and witnesses, draft summaries of their statements, and maintain communication records.
- Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings to observe and assist as needed; may represent the company or clients in routine matters.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations, and assist in updating the legal team on potential impacts to ongoing cases.
- Participate in training sessions and mentorship programs to develop legal skills and gain exposure to more complex legal work.
Education
- Juris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the Georgia State Bar.
Minimum Requirements
- Successful completion of courses focused on legal research, writing, and analysis, demonstrating the ability to conduct thorough legal research and draft clear, well-structured legal documents.
- Strong time management skills, effectively balancing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to organize case files, manage legal documents, and understand the discovery process.
- Effective communication skills with clients, including preparing summaries and maintaining interaction records.
- Knowledge of legal ethics and professional conduct standards.
- Fundamental negotiation techniques and strategies for client interactions and settlement discussions.
- Must be within a commutable distance to courthouses throughout the Savannah, Georgia area.

Compensation
Annual salary ranges from $66,800 to $120,650, based on experience and qualifications. The candidate will be required to submit to a background check. Allstate does not typically sponsor employment-based visas for this role.
