Job summary

Utah Department of Transportation is offering an Engineering Rotational Program in Ogden for recent graduates or those within one year of graduating in Civil Engineering. The program runs up to four years for non-licensed engineers with limited experience, exposing you to design, materials, hydraulics, planning, right-of-way, structures, traffic, and construction.

You will learn engineering principles across lifecycle activities and apply math and engineering techniques to transportation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proof of passing the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE).

Responsibilities

• Participate in a variety of activities throughout the engineering project lifecycle, including feasibility studies, materials research, design and concept development, scoping, environmental assessments, safety planning, specifications, scheduling, and revisions.
• Assist in the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of transportation facilities.
• Monitor and evaluate contract and contractor performance to ensure compliance with specifications; recommend corrective actions for deficiencies.
• Collect and review research materials, ensuring the accuracy, validity, and appropriateness of all data sources.
• Prepare engineering and design documents using computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment.
