Job summary

Seagate Technology in Longmont, CO seeks a software engineer to design, develop, and maintain embedded application software across the full stack, from OS services to user interfaces. You will contribute to command-line tools used to configure and monitor disk array systems.

You'll work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment, applying test-driven development, code reviews, and CI to deliver reliable software for mass-capacity storage platforms.

Qualifications

• Production-quality software experience in Linux-based, embedded, or systems environments.
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming like C++/Java with service-based or API-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle best practices, including code reviews, unit testing, and CI.
• Knowledge of Python scripting.
• Ability to debug issues across multiple layers of the software stack and collaborate with test teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain command-line interfaces for configuring and monitoring disk array systems.
• Design and implement embedded application software with a focus on quality and testability.
• Triage, debug, and resolve issues identified during CI/CD processes.
• Collaborate with quality and test teams to identify and resolve defects.
