Job summary

McCandlish Holton, PC in Richmond, Virginia is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our Civil Litigation Practice Group. This position targets attorneys with zero to four years of substantive civil litigation experience who want to develop litigation skills through client interaction, courtroom advocacy, research, written advocacy, and hands-on case management.

Qualifications

J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
Active Virginia State Bar in good standing or eligibility for admission prior to employment.
Reliable transportation to and from work and to off-site work locations.
High level of computer literacy and ability to use legal tech, digital platforms, document management, email, and MS Office.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience conducting legal research, analyzing issues, and drafting documents.

Responsibilities

Manage assigned civil litigation matters and assist in case strategy development.
Represent clients in litigation proceedings and prepare legal documents.
Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
Communicate with clients and opposing parties; collaborate with attorneys in a fast-paced team environment.
