Job summary

Cummins Inc. entry level/early career applied science position focuses on numerical computations to assess structural performance of components and systems. Models guide design validity and customer requirements, with design recommendations provided as needed.

Responsibilities include executing ESW/DVP&R processes, developing computation tools, and delivering results for key structural parameters to support design validation and product performance.

Qualifications

  • Post-graduate (Master's) Engineering degree relevant to this discipline area required.
  • Experience in FEA automation and design optimization will be preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with ANSYS for analyses and/or experimental data post processing using Testlab, Ncode etc. is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Investigates product and system problems, understands causal mechanisms, recommends action, owns problem resolution and documents results.
  • Executes and improves established processes documented in ESW/DVP&R, developing specialized computational tools as needed.
  • Delivers computer models and results for motion, load, natural frequencies, stress, and design margins for validation.
  • Collaborates with Design, Thermal Sciences, Materials and Product Validation across teams.
  • Contributes to team goals while developing proficiency in core engineering competencies.
