Job summary

Intex Electrical Contractors, Inc. is seeking a licensed Journeyman Electrician for the Dallas/Fort Worth area, TX.

The role covers installation, alterations, additions and repairs of electrical systems and equipment within the construction industry, with emphasis on reading blueprints, wiring, terminations, and control wiring. Responsibilities include laying out, rough-in, installing switchgear, feeders and underground work, plus troubleshooting energized circuits under supervision.

Qualifications

Scope Of Work

Work will consist of installation, alterations, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors and associated materials and equipment within the electrical construction industry.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

Performs all electrical tasks with general supervision, possesses journeyman license, has the ability to read blueprints, terminate cable, install and trouble shoot control wiring from drawings, is able to demonstrate experience factors exceeding an electrical helper and must be sufficient on rough in work. A journeyman would normally have this classification for the first year.

• Possess skills of lower E Rating Job Title (E-4, E 3, E 2, E 1)

Skills

• Positively identify colors of wires.
• Comprehends reading and drawing prints and schematics of same.
• Bend conduit by hand with hand benders.
• Must use all power tools, saws, threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders, and knockout punches.
• Capable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipment.
• Operate equipment, trenchers, back hoe, lift trucks in a safe manner.
• Practices and comprehends safe work procedures as outlined in Company Safety Policy Handbook, Haz Com Policy, and Lockout/Tagout Policy.
• Operates two (2) handed tools/equipment, cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jack hammers.
• Operate company trucks with manual and automatic transmission.
• Read and interprets maps, instructional manuals, specifications, work site directions, blue prints and written instructions.
• Operate and work from mechanical personnel lifts (electric or gas powered).
• Work energized circuits and equipment with company management approval as outlined in Safety Policy.

Physical Requirements

• Personal weight and tools cannot exceed weight limit of ladders (Class 1-250lbs, Class 2-300lbs).
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach over head.
• Lift 51 pounds, 20 times per day. Constantly move about on the feet.
• Climb ladders of all types.
• Complete full day assignments involving overhead work.
• Must be able to make transition from employee parking area or street into construction work areas and to access all levels of the building, even if the only means of access is by O.S.H.A. approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction, but acceptable for use.
• Possess good vision, normal or corrected.
• Must be capable of securing tools and materials from storage areas to complete assigned tasks.
• Possess good hearing, normal or corrected.
• Must be able to positively identify different colors of wiring.

Working Conditions

May work inside or outside while wearing required personal protective equipment at all times; possible exposure to hot and cold temperatures, weather elements, dust, toxic materials, in restricted or confined spaces, and on slippery or uneven surfaces; work at all elevations including ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, in ditches and excavations; works in and around single and multi-story buildings with all exposures typical of a heavy construction site, including portable sanitary facilities.
