Job summary

Aether Aerospace is seeking Senior/Mid-level Systems Engineers for the CTSi headquarters in Southern Maryland to support aircraft avionics integration efforts. This is a highly technical, customer-facing role that may require international travel and a proactive attitude.

The successful candidate will communicate system design to diverse engineering teams and customers, with potential for remote work where appropriate; a BS (MS preferred) and 6–8 years experience are expected.

Qualifications

• BS degree (MS preferred) in Engineering from ABET accredited program and 6-8 years of relevant experience.
• System architecture & design, including documentation / artifact capture.
• Requirements management, including capture, decomposition, & tracing.
• Aircraft avionics or weapons integration experience.
• Understanding of the RFM process to successfully gain an ATO for the avionics systems to be integrated.
• Understanding of RTOS, OMS/UCI, 1553, Ethernet.
• Modular Open Systems Architecture principles.
• Understanding of Model‑Based Systems Engineering.
• System integration & testing.
• Change Request / Change Management (CR/CM) techniques & processes.
• Link‑16 knowledge or experience a plus.
• Knowledge of Agile workflows a plus.
• Eligible to obtain Secret Clearance (Active Secret Clearance preferred).

Role Summary

Our client has an immediate opening for several Senior/Mid‑level Systems Engineers located at CTSi headquarters in Southern Maryland in support of multiple aircraft avionics integration efforts. This is a highly technical, customer‑facing position that requires international travel and a high level of initiative. The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate system design information to a wide spectrum of engineering disciplines and to customers at all leadership levels. The successful candidate would be willing to work full time in St. Mary’s County, Maryland; remote work may be considered where appropriate.

Salary

$100,000 - $175,000

Qualifications

• BS degree (MS preferred) in Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program and 6‑8 years of relevant experience.
• System architecture & design, including documentation / artifact capture.
• Requirements management, including capture, decomposition, & tracing.
• Aircraft avionics or weapons integration experience.
• Understanding of the RFM process to successfully gain an ATO for the avionics systems to be integrated.
• Understanding of RTOS, OMS/UCI, 1553, Ethernet.

• Understanding of Model‑Based Systems Engineering.
• System integration & testing.

• Prior experience performing detailed analysis and preparing for Design Reviews.
