Job summary

Citi is seeking an E Trading Quality Assurance Lead – AVP to own QA across the full testing lifecycle for electronic trading platforms. You will mentor the team, shape testing standards, and coordinate with global technology and business groups to ensure reliable, compliant trading systems at scale.

The role requires hands-on testing experience with futures and options, algorithmic trading, and strong automation using Java and Cucumber in a BDD framework.

Qualifications

• 9–13 years in IT quality or software quality assurance with end-to-end testing ownership.
• Hands-on testing of electronic trading platforms including futures and options.
• Experience with e-Trading lifecycles and algorithmic trading behavior (TWAP, VWAP, Iceberg, etc.).
• Proficiency in test automation using Java and Cucumber in a BDD framework.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, container environments (ECS), and GitHub.
• Strong understanding of FIX protocol and electronic trading regulatory obligations.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and cross-geography coordination.

Responsibilities

Job Overview

Citi is looking for an experienced e-Trading Technology Quality Assurance (QA) Senior Analyst to play a pivotal role in safeguarding the integrity of electronic trading platforms within a high-velocity, globally connected Capital Markets technology environment. In this role, you will own quality assurance across the full testing lifecycle — from UAT strategy through to production rollout — directly influencing the reliability and regulatory compliance of trading systems used at scale. You will operate as a senior quality leader, mentoring colleagues, shaping testing standards, and coordinating across global technology and business teams to drive consistent, measurable quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end quality assurance across UAT and production rollout cycles for electronic trading platforms, including validation of Futures and Options products, algorithmic Trading and Execution Platform, and electronic order management workflows.
• Design, execute, and maintain automated test suites using Java and Cucumber within a Behavior-Driven Development framework, ensuring test coverage aligns with system and regulatory requirements.
• Define and enforce quality standards and testing procedures across the software development lifecycle, conducting annual reviews and recommending improvements to keep practices current and effective.
• Monitor products and processes for conformance to established standards, identify quality risks, perform root cause analysis, and deliver clearly documented remediation recommendations.
• Validate system behavior against FIX protocol specifications and electronic trading regulatory obligations, ensuring trading platform outputs meet both technical and compliance benchmarks.
• Act as a quality advisor and mentor to junior team members, providing guidance on testing approaches, standards adherence, and professional development within IT Quality.
• Assess quality-related risks in business and technology decisions, escalating control issues transparently and ensuring all corrective actions are assigned, tracked, and resolved to completion.

Required qualifications & skills

• 9-13 years experience in an IT Quality or software quality assurance role, with demonstrated ownership across the full testing lifecycle from test strategy through to production validation.
• Must - Hands-on experience testing electronic trading platforms, including a solid working knowledge of Futures and Options products, Capital Markets and Derivatives domains, order types, and electronic trading processes.
• Must - Demonstrated experience testing e-Trading lifecycles and workflows as well experience of trading algorithms such as TWAP, VWAP, Iceberg etc. with the ability to validate algorithmic behavior against defined specifications.
• Proficiency in test automation using Java and Cucumber within a BDD Behavior-Driven Development framework, including the ability to write, modify, and execute complex automated test scripts independently.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, container environments such as ECS, and version control using GitHub, enabling effective integration of quality practices into modern delivery workflows.
• Good understanding of the FIX protocol and regulatory obligations for electronic trading, with the ability to validate system behavior against these standards in a structured and auditable way.
• Strong stakeholder communication and coordination skills, with the ability to align project teams, vendors, and global counterparts on quality outcomes across complex, multi-geography programs.

• Project management experience in a fast-paced, time-to-market driven technology environment, with the ability to manage quality workstreams across concurrent deliverables.
• Experience contributing to the development of new testing standards and procedures in collaboration with cross-functional technology teams.
• Familiarity with process audit methodologies and the ability to conduct structured product evaluation and conformance assessments.
