Job summary

Verisk is seeking an Actuarial Associate in the Excess and Surplus Lines unit to apply casualty pricing knowledge to non-admitted E&S risks. You will join a growing actuarial team and help develop innovative actuarial product solutions to price and manage non-admitted risks in the casualty market.

This hybrid role can be based in Jersey City, NJ or remotely from the Eastern time zone. The team collaborates with data operations, analytics, and other Verisk units to deliver client-focused

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related majors.
• 4–6 years actuarial experience with a focus on E&S casualty pricing.
• ACAS preferred; Exam 5 required.
• Proficiency in actuarial software (SAS, R, Python, Excel); SQL proficiency.
• Data management knowledge; familiarity with Snowflake and DBT a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop creative actuarial solutions for complex risks outside the traditional admitted market.
• Synthesize disparate data sources; support E&S casualty analytics and pricing.
• Translate data into actionable actuarial and underwriting insights.
• Collaborate with Verisk E&S and cross-functional teams to deliver client solutions.
• Own workstreams end-to-end from data discovery to delivery.
