Job summary

Allied World is seeking an Underwriter in the E&O department located in Farmington, CT. The role reports to the AVP, E&O and focuses on underwriting and servicing a book of Errors & Omissions liability, including Miscellaneous E&O and Lawyers Professional Liability, to meet premium and profitability goals.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree (preferred), 1-3 years underwriting experience, strong writing and communication skills, excellent organization, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 1 - 3 years underwriting experience in related line of business.
• Excellent organizational skills and time management.
• Solid writing and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and service a book of E&O liability business including new and renewal.
• Price analysis, terms and conditions, quote/binder/invoice with approvals.
• Liaise with Claims Department on claim activity.
• Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and administrative standards.
• Attend meetings with brokers and clients as directed by manager.
• Follow reinsurance protocols and stay current with industry developments.
