Overview

Rapiscan, an OSI Systems Company, is seeking an E/M Assembler 3 based in Billerica, MA.

Rapiscan is a leading provider of end-to-end security inspection solutions, utilizing technologies such as X-ray, computed tomography, ion mobility spectrometry, radiation detection, and optical inspection. Our products and services serve ports, borders, airports, military, law enforcement, and other security markets to address threats like terrorism, smuggling, and trade fraud. We pride ourselves on advanced detection technology and industry expertise, ensuring our customers receive top-tier support from planning to post-installation.

The role involves performing a variety of electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical assembly operations on complex equipment, including baggage scanners, port containers, and mobile inspection units.

As a skilled specialist, you will complete complex tasks efficiently with minimal errors, demonstrating enthusiasm, self-motivation, and teamwork with little supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Perform electromechanical assembly, including cabling, connecting, and torquing assemblies.
  • Possess a strong mechanical and electrical background, familiar with hand tools.
  • Conduct tasks like drilling, reaming, burnishing, and tapping.
  • Knowledge of crimping and pull testing of crimps.
  • Maintain productivity and adapt to various job assignments proactively.
  • Understand 5S principles and maintain workspace and tooling standards.
  • Work outdoors as needed, upholding safety and quality standards.
  • Manage BOMs, inventory, and documentation accurately and timely.
  • Transition between product lines with minimal training.
  • Use online documentation and maintain production records.
  • Read and interpret BOMs, assembly, and schematic diagrams.
  • Prioritize safety, quality, and timely shipment, aligning with company values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork.
  • Report quality issues promptly to facilitate corrective actions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience with 5+ years in manufacturing.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, work on vehicles, and at heights.
  • Comfort working at heights using ladders or manlifts.
  • Positive team player with a proactive attitude in a dynamic environment.
