Job summary

SGS North America Inc. is seeking a Chemist II, E&L to perform sample preparation and complex instrumental analyses (GC-MS/FID, LC-MS/PDA, ICP-MS/OES) on extractable and leachable testing of pharmaceutical containers and medical devices.

You will operate and maintain analytical equipment, prepare solutions, document activities per cGMP, and work within a collaborative team to ensure quality results and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related science ANDA minimum of 2 years of GC-MS/FID and/or LC-MS/PDA and/or ICP-MS/OES experience.
• General knowledge of chemistry and knowledge of various analytical techniques.
• Communication skills including grammar and composition.
• Ability to work well with others & independently.
• Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform sample preparation and operate GC-MS/FID and/or LC-MS/PDA and/or ICP-MS/OES analysis on extractable and leachable testing.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation for cGMP analysis.
• Prepare chemical solutions following SOPs and testing methods.
• Document all testing activities in accordance with cGMP and SGS Integrity programs.
• Maintain inventory of laboratory chemicals and disposable equipment.
• Perform wet chemistry and raw material analysis as requested.

Job Description

• The Chemist II, E&L will perform sample preparation, GC-MS/FID and/or LC-MS/PDA and/or ICP-MS/OES analysis on extractable and leachable (E&L) testing of pharmaceutical containers and medical devices.
• Operates and maintains laboratory equipment and instrumentation required for cGMP analysis of samples.
• Prepares chemical solutions following standard operating procedures and appropriate testing methods.
• Operates and maintains GC-MS/FID and/or LC-MS/PDA and/or ICP-MS/OES instruments.
• Keeps an inventory of laboratory chemicals and disposable equipment necessary for the daily functioning of the laboratory.
• Performs wet chemistry and raw material analysis as requested.
• Performs testing in accordance with specified methods.
• Document all testing activities in accordance with cGMP.
• Performs duties according to LSS Global direction and in compliance with cGMP and GLP regulations and SGS Integrity programs.

Qualifications
