Job summary

Austin Powder is seeking an E&I Technician to support electrical and instrumentation systems across the plant in McArthur, Ohio. The role collaborates with operations, engineering, maintenance, and safety teams to ensure reliable performance.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, proficiency with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and instrumentation, and strong diagnostic skills with meters and CMMS familiarity.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years as I&E/controls/automation technician or similar.
• Experience with industrial PLCs, HMIs, sensors, instrumentation.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, loop drawings, manuals, and ladder logic.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment up to 480V.
• Diagnose electrical faults with meters and diagnostic tools.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on motors, drives, and MCCs.
• Troubleshoot and repair VFDs and motor control circuits.
• Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation; perform loop checks and calibration.

The position reports directly to the E&I Maintenance Supervisor located in McArthur, Ohio.Responsibilities and DutiesInstall, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and systems up to 480V.Diagnose electrical faults using multimeters, ohm meters, and other diagnostic tools.Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on motors, drives, and MCCs.Troubleshoot and repair VFDs and motor control circuits.Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation.Perform loop checks, instrument calibrations, and verification of control system functionality.Education and ExperienceMinimum 3-5 years of experience as an I&E technician, controls technician, automation technician, or similar role.Experience working with industrial PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and instrumentation.Proficiency with multimeters and diagnostic tools.Familiarity with CMMS systems and reliability-centered maintenance practices.Experience with industrial communication protocols preferred.Experience with robotics preferred.Skills, Knowledge, and AbilitiesElectrical and instrumentation systems troubleshooting and maintenance.Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, loop drawings, technical manuals, and ladder logic.Ability to assemble, troubleshoot, and repair complex automated machines.Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, sensors, transmitters, and control loops.Strong mechanical and electrical skills, including electromechanical assemblies.Work EnvironmentThis position requires no travel.
