Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned E&I Project Quality Inspector for oilfield-related plant construction. The role requires hands-on oversight of quality procedures, document turnover, and third-party inspections on site.

You will ensure compliance with NEC, NETA, and IEEE standards while coordinating with project teams and clients. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of E&I quality inspection experience, valid electrical licensure preferred, and strong reporting skills.

Job description

• Report administratively to the Project E&I QC Lead or Project Manager and functionally to the Division Quality Manager
• Collaborate with client representatives, project management, construction management, and subcontractors
• Review project documents and drawings for quality procedure and work practice compliance
• Ensure on-site staff are properly certified for assigned work
• Report completion status and weekly quality inspection activities
• Implement the approved Quality Inspection and Test Plan
• Organize client witnessing of hold points and approval of documentation
• Oversee third-party inspections and testing and review produced documents
• Provide quality oversight of project work
• Maintain project quality documentation and compile project document turnover books
• Perform system completion walk-downs and report deficiencies
• Maintain punch lists and report open items weekly
• Immediately report discrepancies or concerns to project and division quality management
• Provide quality guidance to field project groups
• Conduct in-process monitoring of E&I work for compliance with quality standards
• Ensure subcontracted third-party personnel work safely and comply with applicable safety, environmental, and health requirements

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an E&I project quality inspector
• Valid driver’s license
• Able to clear drug and background requirements
• Experience in E&I disciplines and working with multi-disciplined onsite teams
• Experience in oilfield-related plant/facility construction
• Experience in quality control representing construction contractors
• Familiarity with applicable regulatory statutes and codes
• Experience managing project quality records and data
• Experience in E&I inspection activities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word
• Knowledge and experience with NEC, NETA, IEEE, VE-2, and other applicable codes
• Proven communication skills
• Good written communication and reporting skills with proper grammar and spelling
• Electrical License (Master or Journeyman) preferred
• MCCER Certification preferred
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to walk the property and laydown yards
• Ability to carry up to 50 pounds
