SUMMARY
Prepares complete estimates for assigned project(s) and determines project plans and specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Reviews and incorporates historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man-hour figures.
2. Estimates worker-hours and materials required to complete the job.
3. Reviews specifications, drawings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimates.
4. Maintains files of working documents and back-up for estimate figures.
5. Reads and interprets instructions and documentation and plans work activities.
6. Moves materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work sites.
7. Follows all hazardous waste handling guidelines.
8. Completes records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up and housekeeping activities.
9. Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
2. Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work.
3. Follow contracts as assigned.
4. Apply shop mathematics to solve problems.
5. Plan work and select proper tools.
6. Compare and see differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects.
7. Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
8. Make decisions based on measurable criteria.
9. Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.
